On May 26, 2024, Southern City BMX Club proudly hosted its annual "Pedal 4 Pink" event at our newly opened track in Sorell. This special event raises funds for breast cancer research, and this year, it was an outstanding success, with 60 enthusiastic riders participating from across the state.
The event was a vibrant spectacle of community spirit and athletic prowess. Riders of all ages and skill levels gathered to show their support, donning pink outfits and decorating their bikes to honor the cause. The track in Sorell, provided an exciting and challenging course for the competitors, adding to the day’s excitement.
The atmosphere was electric, with families and friends cheering on the riders from the sidelines. The fundraising team were buzzing with activity, offering a variety of refreshments and cakes, while a raffle with fantastic prizes kept everyone engaged throughout the day. The community's participation was truly heartwarming, reflecting a collective commitment to supporting breast cancer research.
All proceeds from the event, including race registration fees and raffle tickets, were donated. In total, we raised an impressive $1,000. This contribution will go directly towards breast cancer research, supporting ongoing efforts to find better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
The success of "Pedal 4 Pink" is a testament to the dedication and generosity of our riders, volunteers, and the broader community. We sincerely thank everyone who participated and supported this worthy cause. Together, we are making a difference, one pedal at a time.
As we look forward to future events, we hope to continue growing our support and making an even greater impact. Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming races at Southern City BMX Club. Let’s keep pedaling for a cure!
